A couple of my engaged friends recently confessed that they wanted to go shopping for Modest Evening Dresses by themselves--and they both asked me if I thought that was weird. Not at all! In fact, I think it makes a lot of sense for the first few shops.
Shopping for wedding dresses is fun, but at the beginning stage, you don’t really need friends’ and families’ opinions yet. Only you can decide what kinds of Cocktail Dresses you feel gorgeous in. If you have your BFF and your mom telling you a wedding gown you hate actually looks really good, you may feel obligated to give it more consideration than you would if they weren’t there. And vice versa: Maybe there’s a Cocktail Dresses you fall in love with that your mom or buddy would despise. At this point, you don’t need them to shoot anything down.
